My husbands b/day is 12/31..New years eve!!!! I absolutely hate going out that nite.?

Not to mention plan for a birthday. Q. Will it ever get to time where I won't have to do any. Like just stay home. Even traveling on that holiday is more expensive and crowded everywhere. Someone please give me an "out". How can I do this without sounding...how can I say...ummmm....like a ******?
