Why didn't the University of Kentucky recruit Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay out of high school?
He went to Lafayette Senior High School in Lexington, KY and won several state titles, according to Wikipedia. He grew up in Lexington, and still returns there often to visit family. Why did UK (among other schools, apparently) p on such an obvious world-cl talent? He ended up starting out at Barton Community College before going to the University of Arkansas, where he won the NCAA Championship in the 100 meters. Now, he's the owner of the fastest 100 meters in history, a wind-aided 9.68 seconds.
